13 years ago, I was woken up by a phone call from my brother. He was in New York City; I was in Atlanta. He told me one of the Twin Towers is on fire and I quickly turned on the TV. We spent the next several minutes on the phone, talking about how crazy it was that a plane could accidentally hit one of the towers - it wasnt even foggy. We were both watching live at 9:03am (him through a NYC apartment window, me on TV), as the second plane hit the second tower. 9:03am. Thats when we -and the rest of the world - realized it wasnt an accident I’ve called my brother every year since, at the same time; and I read through the following 9-11 timeline every year. Kinda my own personal “Never Forget” tradition. It’s a lot to read, but I highly recommend at least skimming through. Its amazing how much we forget (or never knew) about the sequence of events that day.
