13 years ago today... Allah blessed me to begin the journey of marriage with a wonderful helpmeet. This is 1 of my favorite pictures of that day. It is a photo of the prayer that Brother Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad said for us. And it is prayer and our faith in Allah (God) that has allowed us to endure through all the trials of life to this point-still in love, still together, still growing, still committed to make our word bond. A good spouse is a covering for you- guarding you from the things from outside that may harm you; theyre a place of refuge and shelter; a person to warm you and make you feel comfortable; theyre a protection of your weakness and faults so that others may not take advantage of them; and a safe place to grow and work through our weakness and shortcomings till we can be stronger. Allah has blessed me with all I need in the wonderful woman He has made for me. I thank Him for giving me a Believing woman. A Faithful woman. A good mother with a brilliant mind and a heart of love for His people. A woman that has helped me to be a better man. I pray Allah blesses me to be worthy of the honor of being called her husband. #SoulMate
