FRIDAY TOPIC: YOUR SECRETE TIME WITH GOD TEXT: But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close the door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. - Matthew 6:6 Prayer is often the subject of teaching in the world of Christianity. Yet, it is also oftentimes the most misunderstood subject! In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus advises us to spend quiet time with God each day. In fact, He not only suggests that this time be private, He actually uses the word secret! Some people take this verse so literally that they say you should never pray in public, but thats not what Jesus is talking about. Hes talking about the spirit of prayer. Hes talking about having time alone to pray to God and not being showy about it. Why does Jesus place such emphasis on this? Why is it so important? Its important because Christianity is a relationship. And in any meaningful relationship we need time with the other person, to talk and to listen, to communicate, to share our lives together. Make it your daily priority to have a quiet, secret time with God. These precious moments alone with your Heavenly Father are your opportunity to grow your relationship with Him, your best friend. PRAYER 1. Thank you Lord for the gift of life. 2. My God, help my prayer life and increase the fire on my personal altar. 3. Pray for ukraine. 4. Prophecy into your day.
