14: Fists of Fury (aka The Chinese Connection) While Im a bit - TopicsExpress

14: Fists of Fury (aka The Chinese Connection) While Im a bit ashamed to admit that there are even holes to be plugged in my Bruce Lee viewing history, Im glad to say they are now full. I had seen the Jet Li remake, Fist of Legend, which has one of the best fight scenes known to mankind. This one doesnt have a one-on-one fight as good as that. (For the record, the best Bruce Lee fight scene is the one against Chuck Norris in Way of the Dragon.) what it does have is the simplest Bruce Lee performance there is. Now, when I say simple, I dont mean easy. Bruce Lee is awe inspiring in his rage. 90 minutes of rage on screen. Rage against oppression, against anti-Chinese racism, against the lack of self determination of China at that time. (Based on the movie, at least. Its set in the 20s/early 30s, and all I really know about that era is what I read in The Blue Lotus by Hergé.) Is it the best Bruce Lee film? Id say Way of the Dragon is better, and Enter the Dragon is... Well, Enter the Dragon. But a merely great Bruce Lee film is still better than most movies out there.
