#1491: It really bothers me when guys complain about being in the friend zone all the time. First of all, for lack of better phrase, girls get friend zoned too, and I hardly hear them complaining about it. Also, I dont think any girls consciously or even subconsciously put guys into the friend zone. It just happens to be that theyre not interested in a certain guy in a romantic way for whatever reason. Yes, friendship is the foundation for a relationship because it means you can have an emotional connection with someone or whatever, but you shouldnt be extra nice/friendly with the expectation that youll get with the girl. Be her friend because you want to be her friend. Frankly, its a little upsetting when you find out a guy is just your friend with the ulterior motive of dating you. And girls arent always looking for a relationship, FYI. Theres no such thing in a friend zone, okay? Youre just not what shes interested at the time being, and its okay because eventually youll meet someone you like that reciprocates those feelings. Just get it past your heads that a girl may NOT be interested in you romantically, and respect that. Girls get rejected by guys too! (also to those that are always politically correct about everything, sorry for coming off as heteronormative, I was oversimplifying)
