15 Actors You Might Not Have Known Were Republicans! Hollywood is known for being the land of the liberals, not all actors are pulling the same lever at the voting booth. The Republican party is alive and well in Hollywood, and you might just be surprised to learn which actors and celebrities have supported the GOP: 1. Vince Vaughn The A-list actor and former Jennifer Aniston flame isn’t too vocal about it, but his “Wedding Crashers” co-star Owen Wilson confirmed his affiliation when he revealed that Vaughn tried to access a Republican event in 2004. It was held at their hotel and geared toward young Republicans from Texas. (Wilson was allowed in; Vaughn was not.) 2. Dwayne Johnson WWE pro wrestler and actor “The Rock” endorsed George W. Bush and has attended a number of Republican National Conventions. 3. James Earl Jones By all accounts, the actor perhaps most famous for giving Darth Vader his voice was not exactly overjoyed when Barack Obama was inaugurated. 4. Sylvester Stallone Sly is a strong supporter of the Republican party who attended the inauguration of George W. Bush in 2001 as well as other Republican events. 5. Bruce Willis In 2012, Bruce Willis voiced his disappointment in Mitt Romney as a candidate. While he is said to have identified as an Independent, he also showed support for George W. Bush throughout his presidency. 6. Heather Locklear The “Melrose Place” actress and former rocker wife stays under the radar with her political views, but she’s been a known Republican in Hollywood for many years. 7. Robert Duvall “The Godfather” star revealed to conservative radio host Laura Ingraham that he endorsed Mitt Romney for president in 2012. 8. Shannen Doherty Doherty told US Weekly magazine that her Hollywood peers shouldn’t have a problem with the fact that she is a Republican. 9. Stephen Baldwin Stephen leans in the opposite direction of his brother Alec; he supported Mitt Romney in the last election because he believed Romney would be better able to get the country back on track financially. 10. LL Cool J Rapper and actor LL Cool J gave us a glimpse of his conservative stripes when he backed a Republican candidate in 2002. 11. Kristin Chenoweth Chenowith calls herself a Christian who is conservative in some ways, and not so conservative in others. She may vote Republican, but she also supports gay marriage rights. 12. Jaclyn Smith The former Charlie’s Angels beauty is known to have donated to George W. Bush’s campaign despite never having been very outspoken about her political views. 13. Tony Danza While Danza says he’s never contributed to any political candidate, the Federal Election Commission indicates that he is a registered Republican Party voter. 14. James Caan James Caan has referred to himself as “ultra conservative” as recently as 2010, stating that he would never be a part of the “Hollywood liberal” club. 15.
