15 June 2013 11:22 am Quezon City, Philippines By: Kiril Thomas Saberon ------------------------------- A successful life is the result of making the wise assumption that you will be successful. Make the wise assumption that you know who you are. Make the wise assumption that you know what to do. Begin to make wise assumptions about yourself and your life. What kind of wise assumption am I talking about? Is it safe to make a wise assumption or is it some divine cosmic gamble of jumping into the dark when we roll the dice? No! Making a wise assumption is not about some cosmic gamble of jumping into the dark. Be assured that rolling the dice is unnecessary. Making a wise assumption is about stepping into the light of God’s promises found in His Word. Making a wise assumption of knowing who we are in the light of God’s Word on the condition that you have made Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior shows us that if you are in Christ, you are a new creation; old things have passed away. Indeed, you have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). That shows that you past sordid past need not define you when you have made Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior. The good news is, when you have repented for your sordid past, in other words, changed the way you think, you do not have to pay for your sins. For one, no amount of penance can pay for what you have done. This may shock or even offend people but the truth of the matter is, the only one who can pay for your sins is Jesus Christ. It is not what we can give God;it is what God has given us…Jesus Christ. It is through Jesus Christ that we can be restored to the divine favor. Divine favor is not what we deserve;divine favor is about how much God loves us. Many would argue that even though the have made Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior, they still feel dirty and unrighteous. Many would argue that even though that they have believed and said the prayer of salvation, they feel worthless of God’s divine favor. The common idea is, “I’m just a sinner saved by grace”. As humble as it may sound, that has deceived many Christians in to surrendering to a life of defeat that God never meant them to have. In the light of God’s word, make a wise assumption that you are not just a sinner saved by grace. The basis of that wise assumption can be found in the verse below… 2 Corinthians 5:21(New King James Version) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Having made Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior, we can safely and wisely assume that we have been made righteous. In other words, we have right standing with God therefore we have been restored to the divine favor. Making the wise assumption that you know what to do in light of God’s Word require you to realize what kind of mind you have as a born again believer. It requires having a different kind of mindset to be successful in what God had called you to be. Proverbs 25:2 (New King James Version) It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. Success will require you to see things in a different manner. Seeing things in a different manner will help you find out what God has meant for you to have in life. While God wills that everyone find what God has meant for them, few stubbornly seek out for it. How many actually seek out a matter no matter how many hindrances they encounter? How many actually endure the difficulty of overcoming opposition? What is theoretically impossible for others does not make you give up. Not even all the forces of hell unleashed can stop you when you purpose in your heart to utilize that kind of mindset of a king in fulfilling what God has called you to be. 1 Corinthians 2:16(New King James Version) For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. In the beginning making wise assumptions about yourself and your life would make you feel awkward because it may seem like you are being braggart. To do so may sound stupid in the ears of those who are not able to recognize them, because they can only be examined by God’s Word. Philemon 6 (The Source New Testament) As a result of this, the partnership of your faith will be activated when you fully understand every good thing which the Anointed One brings us. The journey towards the successful life that God has prepared for you begins when you make wise assumptions in light of the Word of God.
