15 POLITICAL PARTIES ADOPT UMAHI AS EBONYI GUBER CANDIDATE From the ever credible ThisDay newspaper comes a report, written by their Ebonyi State Correspondent, Benjamin Nworie, that fifteen political parties under the aegis of Ebonyi Coalition of Political Parties (ERPP) have adopted the governorship standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Engr. Dave Umahi, as their sole candidate for the 2015 governorship election. The adoption came just as various candidates of the ruling PDP in the state have unanimously pledged their unalloyed support to ensure the victory of the ruling party’s standard bearer in the election. The group, in a statement signed by the chairmen and secretaries of the political parties, stated that they have decided to show their solidarity to Umahi because of his relentless efforts to change the political trend of imposition in the state. The fifteen parties include: Mega Progressive Party, African Peoples Alliance, Democratic Peoples Movement, Accord Party, Social Democratic Party, All Congress Party of Nigeria, Democratic Peoples Party, National Reformation Party, Liberal Democratic Party of Nigeria, African Democratic Congress.
