15 days left. We have talked over all of our (very limited) possibilities - the pros, the cons, the risks, the benefits... With such a limited amount of time to come up with an answer, we are going camping at the end of the month. Everything will go in storage for now. Then we will take our time to decide whether we stay in MA or go to NH, whether we rent or keep camping.. or head down south. There are so many factors - and of course numero uno is the dogs. Never mind finding a place that allows pets, then they have to allow more than one pet and then they have to allow large breeds and then they have to allow aggressive breeds and then we have to be able to afford it. Its a needle in a haystack. However, NH is much more lax. But it means a wicked commute for Frank. And this goes for campsites as well. I appreciate everyones help. I have checked out absolutely everything you guys have posted. But one thing you have to understand is that while something says pet friendly, once you start digging and looking for specifics.. youll find the fine print: dogs under 20lbs, one dog, no aggressive breeds, (this one is everywhere) two dogs under 50lbs, etc., etc., etc. And the list goes on. And we just dont fit the mold. And we dont have $2k per month to plunk down on shelter. And while lying may appear to save my family, I wont risk the fallout of said lie. I could lie about weight, number and breed, but then what happens if Im found out? And as a writer, I have to think about my name and reputation, and what I represent. I finally saw the camper and RV. The camper sucks. Its tiny and claustrophobic, and Chase literally wont be able to turn around in it. I practically had a break down after I saw it. It certainly is better than living in our car, but is really only one step up. The RV, on the other hand, is pretty nice. It does have a large area up front where Chase can indeed watch tv and bounce around. He can lie down and stretch out and turn around. It has huge windows so its not closed in. But it could be months before the RV is ready. We do want to get a screen house that attaches to the awning to give us extra space. The pups would be able to play and we could all stretch out. Thats hundreds of dollars. A good investment, though. But it wont fit the camper, only the RV (the awnings are different sizes.) And we havent figured out internet yet... at least for me being able to write (apparently I would suck up data like nobodys business).. satellite internet is still a possibility... but pricey. But then, that could pay for itself if I can find a flat-fee client. Ehow is still under renovation but there will be work there eventually again. Im starting to ramble and I need to go pack. I have been packing and packing and packing and packing and I swear I havent gotten anywhere. Ever since I got Chase (whose gotcha day is coming up next month) and Topez, I tell them all the time always and forever, no matter what. Well, the time of no matter what has come. All I can promise is that well be together.
