Details: Early Warning Network: ewn.au NT Fire Weather Warning For the northwest Darwin-Daly District Issued by the BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY, DARWIN at 1700 CST Thursday 2 OCTOBER 2014 for the rest of today and Friday. Fire Danger over the northwest Darwin-Daly District is expected to ease this evening as winds decrease. However, moderate, dry and gusty easterly winds are expected to cause SEVERE FIRE DANGER over the northwest Darwin-Daly District again on Friday. Fires will be very difficult to control, unpredictable, fast moving and very dangerous. Measures to ensure survival should be the primary consideration. Call 000 [Triple Zero] in an Emergency. For information on preparing for bushfires go to securent.nt.gov.au FIRE BAN The Chief Fire Control Officer, Bushfires NT and the Director, NT Fire and Rescue Service advise that a FIRE BAN DAY remains in effect until 5am Friday morning. A new FIRE BAN DAY has been declared for 24 hours commencing 5 am Friday 3 October 2014. No person shall light a fire or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the Northern Territory lying within the VERNON Fire Control Region and the DARWIN Emergency Response Area. NOTE: This includes the BATCHELOR and ADELAIDE RIVER Emergency Response Areas, and the Litchfield and Coomalie Shires. DARWIN Regional Forecasting Centre.
