16 may 2014 Bangkok. As you are well aware that my ride up north of Laos and into Vietnam was put on hold. And I decided to return to Thailand. Anyway I will fly later next month to Vietnam with my wife to make up for the loss. Biking into Thailand from Laos on the Frienship Bridge was easy, there were even signs for bicycles and motorcycles, a bit strange, a contra on the Thailand side where signs of bicycles and motorcycles were not allowed at all. Anyway there were few questions from Thailand immigration of my entry into Thailand, like where Im going and where do I stay, which hotel bla bla and finally a stamped on the passport. But an entry for 14 days only. If youre are cycling all the way to Malaysia that would be problem I think Anyway at Nongkhai I caught a night sleeper train. It leaves at 6.20pm and arrived Bangkok at 6.00 in the morning. Great!, with a sleeper coach I could rest well. Bike cost was 90bh and it goes into the cargo wagon. At Bangkok, I make enquiries about train to move south. There was a bit of bad news as train to Sungai Golok has been put on hold and it goes only to a little town I do not know where. Apparently there had been some trouble in the south where the rail track has been blown up. Anyway train to Trang is as usual, and scheduled at 5.05pm today. I bought a sleeper air con ticket to Trang. Will spent a few days on Koh Muk... well lets see how it goes.
