[162] You know when you married and your inlaws are the last - TopicsExpress

[162] You know when you married and your inlaws are the last people you want to see, it was like that for me everytime with Zukos sister and the worst part of it all was that I wasnt even married to the bastard. Sweat dripped all over me as I approached them, my mother was the first to suggest that we all go inside for a cup of coffee. The uninvited visitors got out of the car and followed us inside our house like we have called out an important meeting. Some of our neighbours were even looking in our direction and I knew some were even spying behind their windows; courtesy of living in the rurals. My mother was so nice that she told me I should go sit down at once when I tried to help her, awusatsho ke nakwi chommey zakho ba uphi, nakum or uZuko. Ucima nefown kanti uzifihle apha Zukos sister threw stones at me the minute I sat down further away from Zuko on the couch. Andinogoduka na? I asked throwing at least something back at her, my mother arrived before she could say anything more. Zukos sister marinated my mother with boring stories about Cape Town in which my mother responded by proudly announcing that she has never been there before. I burnt my tongue a couple of times throughout the conversation as my mother continued to embarrass me with every word she said. They continued laughing and going on about their newly found friendship as if we werent even there. My mother got up to clear the table before I could, Zukos sister joined her and I was left with the guy that was slowly ruining my life with multiple humiliation. He slowly apologised balming his sister for dragging him here, he said she knew that things were not going so well between us and he was also doing a lot of thinking. But he couldnt finish his speech, Sinazo uzosoluhamba noZuko ke ntombi. Anindincede kaloku ziyanqaba neTaxi kweli cala my mother. I reluctantly got ready and we left, the drive to EL was like a drive to hell with Satan and his brother driving with me. Zukos sister interrogated me and gave me lectures all the way to EL like I was some wife who ranaway. They dropped me at the flat and Zuko made me promise that I wasnt going to disappear again and then I left. When I walked in Zimasa was sleeping and I decided not to wake her, my phone beeped and I read Zukos message out loud going to drop my sis then come fetch you. Need to talk. I was not in the mood trying to solve a problem that was not there in the first place, I missed him and I was ready to put everything that has happened behind us. It seemed like we spent most of our time fighting and being mad at each other than loving, I wanted that to change. I guess I was slowly turning into those women who say they will never leave their cheating boyfriends because theyve been together for ten years. How foolish of them, how foolish of me to condemn them as such when I was busy trying to look pretty for someone who was slowly taking me for granted. At 7 he picked me up and regardless of the effort Ive put in, he didnt seem to notice cause he was so busy nursing his beer to even take a good look at me. Uthini ke baby? He said and we made a stop outside Cafe Neo. He reached into his pocket and took out something in a box, my heart did a few jumps as he opened it. It was a nice classy looking watch that he explained that he saw it while he was on business. I wore it and then I thanked, tasting beer in his lips as I kissed him. We walked hand in hand inside Cafe Neo and we had a few drinks then left. Sister yam injeya, you just have to learn to deal with her he said when I started complaining about his sister. He dropped me back at the flat apologising that I couldnt sleep at his place now that his sister was there. I lied and said that I understood, we kissed and he even said the three magic words. I hopped in joy all the way to the flat to find Amanda filled with rage ndiyamcaphukela uTamara!!! She was telling Zimasa. Kwenzekentoni? I asked almost blushing as I took off the watch, I changed into my pyjamas then I put it back again; I couldnt put it down. Zimasa was distracted by the watch and Amanda had no choice to pause whatever temporally anger she had towards her fellow friend. Namhlanje? She asked and I nodded, I knew Zimasa had warned me about Zuko but she was not the only one; I wanted everyone to acknowledge the fact that he was not perfect but he was trying. Mmmm, intwezi riight. She said but we had no choice but to focus on Amanda who was complaining. uTamara ucimbha ubhadlile kunam She went on to say that Tamara was being used and she didnt even know it. Amanda was drunk, it was pretty clear that they had started fighting wherever she was with Tamara and we didnt even care cause the next morning it was going to go down the drain; another reason why we didnt want to get involved. We all went to bed but I couldnt sleep, I held the watch to my chest the whole night feeling loved and appreciated. The next morning the sound of the girls on each others throat woke me up and with Zimasa trying to calm them down. Zimasa tried so hard to calm them down that she had to wake me for an extra hand. They went like that for a while until Zimasa sang out a speech about friendship and behaviour, the speech bored me because I was still enjoying the cat fight. Two days later they were inseparable again, I even told Zimasa that next time we should just let them hit each other a little before we break them apart. Even Zuko had a good laugh when I described in detail what had happened nini ke abo!!! Amantombi nge drama he said laughing. Zuko was making sure he saw me everyday now, I was the happiest that things were working out for the better between us again. He was sending me cash via e-wallet as a surprise from time to time, the girls were so jealous and they even said that I was lying and I had used a love portion on him. I laughed at the fact that people will even suspect the acts of witchcraft because love is so rare. We were so busy preparing for a Gala dinner that Zimasa was invited to. I could hear that Zuko was disappointment when I broke the news that I was going to crash our plans. The last straw was telling him that I couldnt even come after the Gala dinner. He dropped the phone on me, but later sent an apology text and said that he was willing to wait until sunday. The Gala dinner was great and Zimasa said we could cancel our plans cause she also wanted to spend sometime with Svig too. I was more than happy to hear the great news because I missed Zuko and I wanted to get out of that tight dress and just cuddle in his arms. When Svig came to fetch us I asked him to drop me at the beacon. They dropped me and left, I couldnt contain my excitement when I knocked on his door. I took off the uncomfortable heels and I kept on knocking, after what seemed like a decade Zuko opened the door. Surprise!!! I said as Zuko opened the door, his eyes opened wide with shock when he saw me. Baby, I thought buthe uza ngomso!! He said blocking the way in. I told him I was cold and I pushed him then I entered, I went straight to the kitchen and I plugged in the kettle. Zuko stood at the door as if he had seen a ghost, I ignored him and I undid the buttons on my dress and I slipped it out so I can change to something warm. What greeted me when I opened the bedroom door were red heels, brown handbag, clothes on the floor and a yellow bone sleeping peacefully in the bed I was going to sleep in !!!!
