17/12/2014. ॐ श्रीपरमात्मने नमः । I WANT TO PRACTISE RELIGION, BUT I CANT GET TIME. This is very common and lame excuse for not practicing the religion. It is very weak attempt to exonerate you from the responsibility of not practicing it. This is commercial trading of your mind. Your mind has been doing this since billions of years in the millions of past lives. The mind will not dare to directly deny you to practise the religion, fearing it will create conflict and it knows that conflict always results in the renunciation, the Sanyas. The conflicts in cases of Mahavir, Buddha, Narsinh Mehta, Mirabai, Tulsidas, etc resulted in the renunciation, the Sanyas. So your mind is very shrewd and cunning. It wants not to create any such situation of conflict with you that leads its relation with you becoming strife stricken and you opt for Sanyas. It doesn’t want any speedy decision on the subject in ‘yes’ or ‘no’. It wants to prolong the subject for the infinite time. Your mind has been doing this since infinite time. It delays the decision for tomorrow, and tomorrow never comes. It says not now, as you don’t have time now. This is mind’s way of denying you. It gives you diplomatic answer. As proved bureaucrat answers the petitioner or minister, he will say neither ‘yes’ nor ‘no’. Same way your mind advises you not to practise the religion now as you don’t have time. It creates impression that it is not against religion, but as you are pre-occupied now; with other more important subjects, you can’t spare time for religion now. Your mind is deploying this tactic since billions of years. And when mind say that you don’t have time, you feel elevated. Your ego gets nurtured that you are so important and engaged entity that you don’t have time. But it is high time to recognise the strategy of the mind and break the vicious cycle of birth and death by getting Realisation. Suppose as per advice of your mind you don’t have time, but if your mother or son or wife gets ill, can you find time to shift one to hospital or not? You indeed find time for the hospitalization, but for religion, you don’t have time. So it is clear beyond any doubt that real question is not that of time but your devotion for religion. I think you must set priorities for the works, and religion must be one among them. You tell your mind that you are going to club, and not to Temple or Satsang Hall. You will have to be shrewder than the mind in the beginning. Once on the track, then it would not deny you for the religion also. So leave the lame excuse of not having time and engage yourself whole heartedly in self awakening. हरिः ॐ तत् सत् ।
