17.) Today I am particularly thankful that God gave me a gift with words. I have been writing poetry since fifth grade, and essays/short stories since eighth grade. There are pages of writings lost to the landfills of time that I wish I had, and will never see again, but we cannot regret what we cannot control. Wayne L. Carter and Ralph Jones were nice enough to let me write for them each month in the e-Newsletter (...in the 21st Century, we call it a blog,), The Bodock Post and THAT has been therapeutic for my soul...particularly this year. Please go to The Bodock Post and read the current issues...but also go to the ARCHIVES section and read the stuff in there about my hometown...Pontotoc...and the way things were before the internet, before we were beset by convenience stores on every street corner, before cellular phones and this fallacy called global warming or the even more vague climate change. There are a bunch of Southern Writers who now live all over the country who contribute. Thank you God, for guiding my mind and my hand as I write.
