18 December 2014 Statement The demands by the 14 Cabinet Ministers to call for the resignation of Acting President Guy Scott on what they call ‘moral grounds’ should not be entertained because it is not constitutional and is a recipe for anarchy. In so far as executing duties of Acting President are concerned, Guy Scott has performed exceptionally well especially in guarding against abuse of Government resources during campaign. This is the biggest sin that Guy Scott has committed against the PF hierarchy that hoped to use Government resources for campaign. Instead of calling for the resignation of Scott, the 14 Cabinet Ministers should instead themselves resign from Cabinet. This will also give them enough time to carry out their campaigns freely. As a matter of fact, the 14 Cabinet Ministers and some deputy Ministers seldom report for duty at their respective posts, but have continued to draw Salaries. This is morally wrong. All those Ministers and Deputy Ministers who are actively involved in the Campaign should resign their Positions. The problems in the PF Party are deeper than what meets the eye. However, these problems are compounded by the fact that the party has resorted into washing dirty linen in Public. This is not helping matters at all. Every time there is an issue, it has become common to see Central Committee Members, Ministers, MPs, and whoever carries a position rushing to ZNBC to attack the other. This is destructive to the Party and portrays a negative image to the electorates. Gregory Chifire Former Executive Director Committee of Citizens
