18 years ago today my world was torn apart and turned upside down. It was the day that Seth murdered at the hands of a monster. Luckily, God wasnt ready for him yet and gave him back to us. He was in full cardiac arrest when the EMts arrived. If it hadnt been for their quick thinking, knowledge and Gods guiding hand, he wouldnt be here today. That day was the worst day in my life and I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember wondering how I was going to keep going. I remember hating God and wondering how he could allow this to happen. I remember blaming myself for leaving him with the monster and so many horrible things from that day. I used to dwell on these memories and it would eat me up each and every day. I may still have my bad days, but since I have given myself and my life to the Lord, my bad memories have slowly been being replaced with good memories. Now I remember my family who stood by me and supported me through this horrific time. I remember the doctors fighting to keep my little guy alive, I remember a community who pulled together for us and became so close to us, that it was as if Seth was their child as well. I remember the first time Seth smiled, laughed and said said his first words. I remember meeting the love of my life Jeff Bird), who accepted my 3 kids as his own. I remember Kate Kelly and Cassandra Kelly pushing Seth to help him to be where he is today. I remember my parents giving up their lives so that we had a safe place to stay. I remember my sister and brother in law Michele and Ed for taking custody of the girls so that I could be at the hospital with Seth. I remember my sister Becky putting her nursing degree on hold to help with the girls as well and my brother Scott for being like a dad to my kids. To my brothers Dan and Ken for being there as well. I know that Seths medical condition scared the two of you but I do appreciate your support as well. It didnt go unnoticed. Those are the memories that I am going to hold on to forever. I want to thank everyone for Seth being where is is today because each of you have all had a part in his life and has made his life so much richer by knowing you.
