180 families from Mosgiel, Milburn, Milton and Balclutha have been thrown on the scrapheap due to this National Government having NO PLAN to address the lack of value add in the forestry industry. I am deeply concerned that the Dunedin City Council owned forests have been moving unprocessed logs offshore to get a higher price without considering the bigger picture for the region. Labour does have a strong plan for our forestry processing industry. We wont let this important industry wither. This does not help the 180 families in the short term though. Time to get active and tell this government what you think of its attitude to our regions!
