189 Animals Seized in Doddridge Co. Raid WDTV -- Almost 200 animals were taken from a Doddridge County home Friday after officers say they were living in inhumane conditions. They expected less than a hundred animals to be in the home, but after hours of work found many more. There were 104 cats, 19 dogs, one ferret, and 55 birds. Again, it was an inhumane issue. The animals were living in their own waste and the home was deplorable for the woman living their and all these animals. Luckily the woman was cooperative during the whole process and officers said they reached their goal. Our goal today was to try to see if we could assist the home owner and the owner of the animals in trying to get some help to better herself and her living conditions, along with assisting the animals and trying to get them healthy to where they can be adopted out and be taken care of, said Humane Officer Chris Garner, Doddridge County Sheriffs Department. Officer Garner told 5 News possible criminal charges are pending. The woman explained she rescued most of these animals because they had no where else to go.
