18th Sep was a shocker to me, I had no experience in either being a polling agent (Johnstone Castle) or a counting agent (Paisley), I recount what happened and how to tighten it in the existing form - Firstly few knew to check for a barcodes on votes or the IDs of voters - we need that info at each door of the polling stations and in the mouths of polling agents. Having been locked out of the polling station without the final count in Johnstone Castle, I had to fane to the Janitor bodily need in order to get in and have the final count, here I was then told counting in Paisley would take place in 1hr. Within 1/2 hr we were told boxes were opened in Paisley (6 miles away) and being counted, the race was on, unknown boxes were already on tables being counted. So - we need to be with the votes, the vans, the drop off, and never let the buggers out of our sites. A lot of problems at the count too, ballot boxes opened so far away to us you couldnt read the seals, table positions and surrounding ropes made most counters unable to be viewed, on the counting each counted was put in a transparent box on the near end of each table (further blocking the view of counters), at the end of each box count another box was spilled on the table, this box was just the next in line and had no relation to the one already counted in the clear box (rendering it impossible to backtrack if needed or to designate what count came from where) here we need counting belonging to an area to be within the one table of counters, boxes seals shown to observers, positioning of counters observable, and many cameras rolling. At the end of the entire count we need a wait time to report all mischief and represent, before announcement is made. Guarantee after that lot, all social niceties wont be followed, our concerns, questions and demands will be made next time.
