1979 Malibu Pro Touring Project I am looking to sell or trade my project car. I’ve lost interest in the car and need to move it. I have over $25,000 invested in this car, so whoever gets it, will get an awesome deal. I’ll try to make this as short as I can. I bought this car in 2008 with the intent to build a 1000 rwhp pro touring car. It is a factory 4 speed car. I paid $3,200 for it delivered to my door from Massachusettes. It was a running, driving car that had been sitting for a lot of years. I bought most of the parts for the car shortly after. The body is currently on a rotisserie and in primer. I’ve replaced the right rear lower quarter panel, replaced part of the passenger side floor pan (with aftermarket panels, not handmade panels) and cut the spare tire weld out of the trunk and replaced it with a bead rolled panel. The frame has been notched so that it will except a 10” wide wheel. The frame rails have been boxed in for more rigidity and the front spring pockets have been notched as well to allow expansion of the air bag. I will list below, all of the parts that I have for the car. I may miss some things, so if you have a question, just ask. I am looking for $12,500 cash or will consider trades on an old GM muscle car (Chevelle’s, Camaro’s, Nova’s etc…) or would look at a newer GM LS powered car or motor home/camper. Let me know what you have. I’m located in Northern KY near Cincinnati, OH. • New bolt in Fab 9 housing with new Strange 35 spline axles, new Strange nodular center section and new Detroit Locker with new 4:11 gears, new Chris Alston tubular upper adjustable and tubular lower control arms. This kit goes for more than $3,500. • New Ride Tech Airride Technologies air ride suspension level II kit. Includes rear shocks and bags, front Shockwave shocks, digital controller that mounts inside of the car, all lines, compressor, solenoids, fittings, etc. Also their new Muscle Bar front stabilizer bar. This kit runs over $5,000. • New Wilwood disc brake package with drilled and slotted rotors for both front and rear of the car. Cost over $1,400. • New Riddler 20X10 rear wheels and 20X8 front wheels. Paid over $1,000. • New Magna Fuel Pro 500 fuel pump and filter combo with a matching Magna Fuel pressure regulator. Cost over $650 for all • New Belltech drop spindles. $200 • Just had all of the interior professionally redone. Factory bucket seats and console, dash, steering column, door panels, sail panels ALL redone. Cost over $3,500. • All new Trim Parts weather stripping for entire car. Paid over $250. • All new Autometer gauges. Paid over $1,200. • New Griffin custom fit radiator with built in shroud and twin Spahl fans. Paid over $1,000 (yes) for it. • Fresh T-56 6 speed transmission (professionally gone through). Have over $1,200 in it. • Used LS1 iron block 6.0 litre (138,000?). Was going to put new rings and bearings, rod bolts, cam/lifters and a new set of CNC’d 243 GM heads on it with a carb and intake. Motor still together. Paid $900. • Gently used factory fuel tank with sump already welded in. • New front and rear bumpers from Bumper Boyz. Paid over $500. • New front dash speakers • New headlight bezels and grill to convert front end to 4 headlight setup. Have proper nose piece to. Paid over $200. • Bought the rotisserie that the car is on new as well. It goes with the project. Paid over $1,000 for it. I know I am missing some things. I have probably 95% of the parts to put this car back together. It will make one bad ass street car for someone. Most of the hard work is done. Just needs put together. Please feel free to ask any questions.
