1985...as of January 1st our first Granddaughter (Kristy) is 7 weeks old, Mum & Dads first grandchild (Tara-Lee) is 6 days old both of these ladies will be celebrating the Big 3 0 this year (2014) in addition a beautiful little blonde joined the family -She (Mel) had and still has a million dollar smile; high school graduation for Roger (along with Sherry, Krista, Tracy, Lisa, Brent, Mary, Lori-Ann, Evan, Reid, Mike, Seth, Brian, Jeff, Brigid, Lori, Maryanne, Gary, Heather and a number of others) some of these youth I coached in minor baseball, some I would work with through my volunteer organizations or through Day & Ross...they were and still are an interesting group of folks) Roger joined the militia and then the military (basic training @ Cornwallis) Mum & Dad celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary; in the rest of the world....Aids continues to spread and Governments round the world start screening Blood donations for AIDS; Rick Hansen launches his Man in Motion world tour to raise money for spinal cord research; The wreck of the RMS Titanic is found off the coast of Newfoundland; The plastic thingy that saves hot pizza from the top of the box was invented by Carmela Vitale ; Famine in Ethiopia is shown more on TV News in July and Live Aid concerts around the world raise many millions to help the starving in Africa and the pop industry in US joins together to sing We Are The World; Microsoft Corporation releases the first version of Windows, Windows 1.0.; popular TV shows were: The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Murder, She Wrote, 60 Minutes , Cheers, and Dallas - playing at the movies: Back To The Future, Rambo: First Blood Part II,.
