1Boy4Change.org s Service Dog Jaxx has been placed with his Handler/Owner, 7yr old Talon Cleveland. It has been one heck of a week, full of tears of joy and anger for the Cleveland Family courtesy of an illiterate and inconsiderate school board. Monday, SD Jaxx was given limitations and boundaries at his forever home, then later greeted his 7yr old Handler/Owner at the bus stop. Tuesday, the Cleveland Family took turns learning the commands. Not so good news from school board. Wednesday, meeting called and held. After we cleared every hurdle they presented....the Pennsylvania ADA Helpline advised the school of their negligence and disrespect and the school apologized to the Cleveland Family. Training and celebration. On Thursday, yours truly was advised he was abrasive during Wednesdays meeting because I, along with Janet and Christina spoke in defense of WHY Jaxx is needed and shared ADA laws and Pennsylvanias bylaws in regards to disabled persons and Service Animals. Training before, during and after Talons soccer practice. Friday, Talon made a huge step for a 7yr old. He walked into school with his Service Dog in tow, paving the way for this Tri-County areas FIRST Service Dog. SD Jaxx, SD Bronx, Chris, Janet and I along with a bag of noise makers and treats, offered a 1st grade lesson on Service Dog Etiquette, not so visable disabilities, bullying, and then adequate time to just love on the puppies and ask questions, then school resumed without any interuption. The bullies, have been bullied. The ignorant, educated. Congratulations Talon, Congratulations SD Jaxx. As always, remember...the best way to find yourself is by losing yourself in service to others.
