1Corinthians 9 vs. 16 & 17= For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. Paul is saying even though he is preaching the gospel, it s nothing for him to brag about. This is one of the scriptures that is says many are called but few are chosen. Paul had been doing what he thought was the will of God when he was killing God`s people because of his belief. Paul was very knowledgeable of the word but he didn`t believe that Jesus was the Son of God so at the time he was doing what he did from his own knowledge. But once he had the experience that he was blinded and sent off for a season to be learned again. He at this time was being led by the Spirit and was teaching from the spirit of God not of his will but of the will of God. When you are chosen, your will must be broken, Paul was saying that it would not be good for him if he preached not the gospel because it was the will of God. He had a weight that was placed on him, but was given much grace to carry out his assignment. It is the same today for many pastors that been chosen of God to carry the word. IT is not of the his knowledge that he is preaching the word, but through and b the revelation of the Spirit of God. If he was doing it of his own will he would have already received his reward, but because it was not he was building his treasure up in heaven, When you have been chosen the word is shut up in your bones like fire. You have a urgency to dispel what God has given you. It is at His charge that you do this, not of your own. It is the Spirit that is leading you and the grace of God enables you. This is why he was saying he nothing to boast about. A chosen vessel is graced to do the job and his will is broken in order to do the will of God. Mostly every real man of God has experienced this at one point or another, they have been knocked down like Paul and restructured. This is why many will say, You see the glory but you don`t know the story. You have to be processed and your will has to be broken. It is the same concept of Jesus when he took the cross, not my will but your will be done. There is much blessing in doing the will of God but it requires a willing and obedient heart. Jonah tried to run but he went down further and further until he answered the call. We were bought with a price and do not belong to ourselves. If there be anything good that you see in man, it s not man but the Spirit of God at work in the man. This is why we give all the glory to God. AMEN.
