1st - This post is not about whether or not God exists. 2nd - This post is not about whether or not God answers prayers. Lets say there is a person in desperate need of $200 or he will be kicked out of his apartment and on the street. He has been sitting on church steps praying to God for help and direction. I walked by and see he is obviously down and his luck, and I have $800 I just won in a racquetball tourney burning in my pocket. I reach in my pocket, pull out $400 and think hard about what to do with my $400 and finally ... 1) give it to the man, who looks up and says, Thank you God for answering my prayers and providing for me. 2) decide to give it to family at my daughters school who needs it for very needed dental work. (Whos family was also praying to God for him and said their prayers were answered. 3) decide to keep it all to myself and spend it on D&D books. And find out that the girl didnt get dental work done and got a serious infection and the man got kicked out his apartment and that ended up getting hooked back into a drug habit. Where does free will start and stop and Gods intervention start and stop? If God intervened then where is my free will? If I had free will then how was it God answering the prayer. But most importantly, how can anyone know if God was the result of their prayer, and if there was a result in praying which influenced God, then it implies that God can be manipulated by our free will.
