**1st 8 WEEK TRAINING CYLCE** So as you may or may not know Ive been back to training properly the last 8 weeks after two years of turmoil / injury and been summoned to hardly moving. Im not one for topless pictures to show off, in fact I was really nervous putting these up. This is to show the changes to my physique & mind and explain them to you all to learn and hopefully inspire. Im happy with progress so far, Ive went in not only to get myself lean and strip away unwanted body fat but to structurally sort my body; Lower back, Hamstrings & Shoulders being areas needing lots of work along with working on my flexibility / posture. All this is more important to me than getting a six pack or being ripped, that doesnt necessarily mean healthy, six packs come last!! As you can see after hardly being mobile for some time my body from the first pictures are very unconditioned & bloated (these also taken after two week holiday at Xmas) whilst in 8 weeks you can see a change, stripped body fat & built lean muscle = stronger & leaner. I became insulin resistant & hormones all over the place and struggled with my weight during the injury period which wasnt helped by not being able to exercise much. I have always ate well and made sure I ate good real food but with starting a new programme it was time to take things to a new level. I started eating x3 times more as usual and started a proper structured training plan which worked side by side (yes I lost body fat while eating LOTS more). Without going into too much detail about the training... 4 LISS sessions (low intensity steady state) cardio sessions (walking/biking & squash), 5 resistance sessions (one being strongman / Olympic lifts only) & one metabolic circuit (HIIT) lasting 15mins. Two days stretching / foam rolling to help flexibility and ease muscles. My whole mindset has been reset also, when not able to train especially coming from a sporting background I got down, angry & sometimes low self esteem. Being back only 8 weeks has transformed the way Im feeling and like Im getting somewhere again after 11 years on and off with continuous injuries. The next 8 week cycle is exciting for me, I plan to take training to the next level since Ive built a base for myself again, my food will alter slightly and will opt to reduce my carbohydrate intake more to re balance some things inside. I leave for Canada 5th May and thats when Ill reveal the next set of results & I cant wait. So if your thinking about getting fit and healthy and think you cant then think again. Sometimes even us coaches are in the same position as you and have to start from scratch.
