1st I wanna say Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope you and your families enjoy yourselves. I would like to say thank you to everyone for your support in viewing, liking, and as well as sharing both the BoomBox Classic & Bayou Classic film that were released this season. The love and support for both films really makes the hard work put into making them appreciated. Ive tried to get as much support behind this project as possible from the student body as well as alumni and administration but its only so much I can do. It all started as just an idea that quickly turned into an actual reality. Both films were made with ZERO Funding. The purpose of the films are to bring awareness back to our nations HBCUs in a positive light showcasing what brings us together for what we love most and thats our Football Teams & Bands. I used Southern University as a stepping stone because of the rich tradition and support that the Jaguar Nation shows week in and out but I also love the history and tradition of Jackson St and Grambling St also. I get the ultimate enjoyment seeing 20, 30, 40, even 50 thousand plus African Americans as fans in the stands coming together supporting our prospective institutions of higher learning. These films would be nothing without their involvement. My goal in the future with sponsorship is to cover and highlight all the major HBCU Classics as well as a few Homecomings to show the positive unique style and culture that these universities exemplify. Across the nation HBCUs are fighting to survive and carry on the legacy in which they were founded and I for one will do what ever I can to promote & uplift them. I find it baffling that these days you dont hardly see any HBCU promotion on TV. I am a political science major at Southern University just doing my part in maintaining the heritage that so many before us fought hard for us to have today!
