1st July 2013 Heaven gave the best Texts: Ecclesiastes 9:10, John 3:16 Memory Verse: ‘Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest’ [Ecclesiastes 9:10] Devotional thought: If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the lamb. Willingness and obedience is the secret of greatness in the God-given vision anywhere and any day. Devotion Message Hello dearly beloved. We give glory to the God of all other gods for the gift of wisdom and knowledge. How excellent is your name in all the earth oh Lord! In the accomplishment of the God-given Vision, may I make it clear that, it is the Primary thing and every other thing is secondary, so it is your best that the work requires not the ‘at my convenience’ attitude. Notice that from the memory verse, it was talking about whatsoever your hand find to do, that you should do them well, and let us consider this too, ‘Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before Kings; he shall not stand before mean men’ (Proverbs 22:29). Then I started noticing people and I find yet many people diligent in the works they do, I mean hard worker, strong people that can survive in so many works and they are Christians but they are also hard-sufferer if there is anything like that. It is as if their suffering is directly proportional to their hard-work and it makes one to want to doubt the two above-quoted verses of the Scriptures but relax and see what I have discovered. Let us look back to the memory verse, it says whatever your hand ‘finds’ and that is the key. The word ‘find’ here suggest a discovery and not deciding. Maybe you don’t get it I mean it is not what you have decided to do that He had said you should be diligent with though you need to be diligent with anything you are doing but this verse is talking about what you discover that you should do. You don’t decide a decision but you discover it. To establish that let us consider II Timothy 1:9 together and proceed. It says thus ‘Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own works purpose and grace, which was given in Christ Jesus before the world began’. So it suggest that whatever you find that was meant in the memory scripture is that which you discover of that which had been decided in heaven even before you were born and it will be bad if you don’t get that. So when Proverbs said a man diligent in his business will stand before kings, it is that which the heaven had recorded as your business on earth and no more no less. The notion of work hard is half truth but work hard and work right and work smart and it shall be well. Now in your business you must give your best for both God and man. Are you called a Doctor? Do not leave to go and be a preacher but you must first understand what God wants you to be doing for Him in that place. Are you a lawyer? The Lord wants you to be a good example of the righteous advocate (I John 2:2). Are you a banker? There is always the light of the gospel to shine there. Know your business first and give your very best for it. God might have commissioned a person to be a nurse that will take care of indigent children, that has no means in the name of Christ. He might let you come from a humble background to know how it feels not to have a means. In such your primary aim is those Children and not the job, you might be ready to lose the salary job if it will advance the assignment He has given to you. Notice how the midwives worked in Egypt and what the Lord did to them (Exodus 1:15-21). When Heaven is committed to a thing, He gives the very best. For the Salvation of all men, Heaven gave the best and the only Son of God and the result was awesome. So if heaven could do that you should not do less. A man that has nothing to die for does not deserve to live. Shalom PRAYER BIBLE READING PLAN Father as you give direction, give me also the willing Spirit to accomplish them. Amen.
