2 #19 Yeeer, not today Shaun ntuuu. I faked a smile, i waved at him then i looked away. He came to sit opposite me while the girl he was with ordered for them. Shaun: wow, you look great for a pregnant mama. You look hot to be precise. Me: enkosi Shaun. How can i help you ? Ndihamba nomntu. Shaun: funa ubulisa nje. Me: ohk. Shaun: wheres Nko? Im glad you broke up with him yazi. I broke up with Nkosi? I looked at him with a confused face. Shaun: everyone saw that kufacebook. I just laughed. Uyazithanda gqithi indaba. I saw Mandisa coming to the table. Me: yeah nhe! Well im engaged to him. I showed him my ring, he looked very shocked by my news. We both stood up as Mandisa came to the table. Me: Shaun, this is my mother inlaw ke. He looked so shocked but he regained his right mind. Shaun: hmm molo mah. Mandisa: molo mfana, masambe Vuyo. Well eat at home. Me: ohk. I took some of the bags as Mandisa took the remaining bags. Me: Ill see you around Shaun. He faked a smile then i left noMandisa. We went to the car. Mandisa: ndiya dikwa kuqhuba yhooor. Can you drive Vee? Me: hai mama. Id love too kodwa. I even dream about me driving and Ive about it alot of times. Mandisa: ohk Ill teach you. I took a leave kwi company, well ill work at home. Wana keep a close eye at you and my grandbaby. I nodded. She didnt know that i was expecting a son and i was going to tell them at dinner. We went to an open space , she parked and got out of the car. She came to my side, wavula. Mandisa: iza Vuyo. Go to the drivers side. Me: yeah?! I was so nervous but i got out and entered the driving side. Me: is it safe for me to drive while pregnant? Mandisa: i used to drive ndimithi ndinjalo. Thats why theres safety belt . I breathed and then i sat up right. I first adjusted the chair then i put on a safety belt. Mandisa: see your a natural. Me: haha i hope so. Sisi had a car so zandibona kuye. She used to adjust her chair most of the time. Me: what do i do now? Mandisa: turn the key. I turned the key, the car started. I got so nervous, my hands got wet so i dried them. Mandisa: dont worry sisi. I nodded. Mandisa: thats the clutch, the accelerator and thats the brakes. Always make sure your handbrake is up, like this. Ngelohlobo the car will stay stationery. She pointed at the stuff and i nodded at her hand. Me: who taught you how to drive? Mandisa: Thobile :) . Me: ohk. Mandisa: now! Xa ufuna imoto ihambe uzonyathela iclutch yonke then release it slowly. She turned the car off and made me press my feet on the clutch and how to let it go, slowly. I did that about 10 times. Mandisa: your ready. She pressed the hand brake down, then i started the car. I said a short prayer then i pressed on my clutch, Mandisa instructed me to move my gear to 1 so i did as i was told. After i set my gear, i then let go of my clutch, softly. Mandisa told me to press on my accelerator kancinci so i pressed nam. The car started to move kancinci. My hand was is the steering wheel, so i moved freely on the space. She instructed me to move to the second gear so, i had to let go of the accelerator and start over with the clutch and everything. The lesson went oh wethu. So we headed home. Mandisa driving ofcourse. Mandisa: well do this everyday, uzobona uzobaright. I was excited qha mna. I imagined myself driving ndiyolanda ooLebo haha, that would be great. Mandisa and i decided not to tell anyone about the driving lessons shes giving me. So we were gone suprise everyone. We got home, i took out the plastic bags and Mandisa came in with the others and KFC. I was so tired so i went to bed. I woke up from a call from Avu. Me: hmm. Avu: chomi? Are you ohk? Is the baby ohk? Why were you not at school? I yawned and sat up straight. Me: im fine. Avu: mxm ndinjani nam. You must be frustrated yilento uNko engekho. Me: ewe but Ill be fine, i just need time.
