2,191 days ago... I will never forget Saturday, December 15, 2007, after a long day of knocking on doors for my run-off election, walking into our election night watch party at the old Sapristi restaurant as the early vote totals rolled in and the crowd of family and friends cheered and enveloped me as it was clear I had been elected. I am appreciative and mindful today of those who were with me then and those who have joined me along the way in service. 2007 wasnt that long ago, right? George Bush was President; the economy was starting to crash. A friend named Wendy Davis wasnt even on the ballot yet for her first race for State Senate. I was joining a Council of which most members are now-departed: Chuck Silcox, Frank Moss, Carter Burdette, Kathleen Hicks and Mayor Moncrief. In 2007 I wasnt even on Facebook or Twitter (yes, there *was* such a time in my life up until Sept 2008 -- and unless you were at a Northeastern college, you werent on Facebook in 2007 either). Our world was indeed a different one six years ago. And my life has changed in ways I could have never imagined 2,191 days ago. Thank you to all who have been part of it, especially J.D. Angle.
