Patient suffered Chest pain and was admitted into to the ICU... a nurse handed over a list of medicines to be purchased from the Hospital operated Pharmacy below >>>.. volunteered :D :D ... The green light of billing meter faced us....3000...8000 one more click 13000.. till it rose to 16K+ With a wink,, The friend whispered eku nokoba..sai thoka... :D He chose to examine the prescription of the Lady resident doctor... searched thru the bag and fished out a drug STREPTOKINASE.. approx Rs 4500.. .. he asked the Pharmacist to furnish as the packing was ruffled oid & had a month to expire..They had none.....a small argument to delete the drug till my friend gave his introduction as a former RM of a Multinational Drug Company.. What followed next is amusing & hilarious :- A Learning experience .......As we handed over the drug bag to the nurse.. she frantically searched thru the contents and said - U didnt bring a drug.. Friend : They didnt have... :D Nurse : They have one... Friend: One?? yaa they had one but that was old and about to expire.. Nurse went in and the young Lady Doctor came out,,,, Lady Doctor : That is a vital drug... please get it... Friend They had only 1 and it was about to expire.... Lady Doctor Doesnt Matter, it works beyond expiry..please get it....we already used it from the our side and it needs to be replaced.. Friend Used it ?? May I have the empty vial... Lady Doctor It has been thrown away in the garbage Friend offered to scavenge the garbage bin...the Lady doctor walked in never to return.... Friend to me dekhila... eku nokoba....bola ghar... ^_^ STREPTOKINASE - is an enzyme which works to break up and dissolve blood clots which can block arteries. It is used in the treatment of heart attack or lung blood clots (pulmonary embolism) as well as leg blood clots (deep venous thrombosis-DVT)...prescribed to be administered within 6 hours of chest pain.. ^_^
