2 C. Quick Biscuit Starter [QBS] (recipe follows) 1/2 C. 7-Up or Sprit 1/2 C. sour cream 1/4 C. butter, melted Step 1 - Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine the QBS and sour cream in a mixer. Add the Soda and mix until the dough forms a ball. Add a little more QBS if necessary (I added a little more so the dough wasn’t quite so sticky). Step 2 - In a 9×9 square pan, melt the butter. Separate your biscuit dough into nine equal parts and form each one into a ball. As you can see from mine pictured above, they don’t have to be perfect! Step 3 - Place the dough balls in the pan on top of the melted butter. Step 4 - Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately. A Quick Biscuit Starter (QBS for short): INGREDIENTS: 5 c. flour (4c all-purpose, 1c whole wheat) 1/4 c. baking powder 2 Tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 c. butter Step 1 - Mix dry ingredients together then cut in shortening until crumbly. Store in refrigerator for the time you need biscuit starter material. It keeps for weeks if probably covered/stored.
