2 Corinthians 7:5 “When we were come into Macedonia, our flesh - TopicsExpress

2 Corinthians 7:5 “When we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.” I believe Paul was referring to pain caused by the sheep he ministered to. False teachers had risen up in Corinth and had tried to turn the people against him. (Obviously this didnt originate at FBC Sylvester!! Can you believe it - His own flock! His own congregation! His own church members - those very same people whom he prayed for daily and preached his heart our for turned against him! Why do you suppose that happened??? Was he not the right man for their church? Was he not entertaining enough? Was he too blunt? Did he fail to visit them often enough? I believe it was the same evil forces using people to attack Paul that is being used to attack pastors today. Paul was consoled when Titus arrived, bringing him good news about his “beloved children” in Corinth. Paul writes, “Nevertheless God . forted us by the coming of Titus; and not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more” I have felt this kind of backstabbing, knife wrenching anguish and In such troubled times, I have most needed “helping prayers and intentional love. Pastor, I commit myself to love you and Cathy, to pray for you, to encourage you, to help you as you sacrifice to grow FBC spiritually ... BECAUSE HE commands me too!!! P. S. And bc I love you. No matter how rough and tough the path, I choose to love you and support you because I KNOW you are Gods man appointed for such a time as this . 🙏I will be a helper and not a hindered to Gods Perfect Plan for FBC 👍
