2 Timothy 2:22-26 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow - TopicsExpress

2 Timothy 2:22-26 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. I think this is a good reminder to the Body of Christ. If we have a revelation in an area we are to instruct in meekness [gentleness, mildness] those that oppose us, otherwise we are in strife and the Bible makes it clear that when you are in strife there is confusion and every evil work. I think we forget that our battle is not with flesh and blood. Are we more interested in being right than seeing the other person free? Proverbs tells us that a brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city and their contentions are like the bars of a castle. When you attack people you could be technically right but in the long run what did you accomplish?
