2 billion Naira CBN MSMEDF and OGHA; the truth of the matter I read with a surprise early today on the internet where some enemies of the state stated that Ogun State House of Assembly has granted permission for the state government to assess 2 billion Naira CBN LOAN I was also taken aback when news flooded the Facebook that some members of the Assembly have addressed the press telling CBN to Feng Ogun government assess the fund. I quickly rushed to the Assembly to get the truth of the matter and I found out that the enemies of Ogun state, led by Remmy Hazzan were at it again. THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER 1. Ogun State government DID NOT REQUEST FOR ANY LOAN but a permit for the Assembly to pass a resolution for the state government to participate in the fund. 2. The said fund was a federal government initiative launched on August 15, 2013 to promote a sound financial system for small and medium enterprises at a very low interest rate. 3. What happened today at OGHA was an approval to participate in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund by the state government after the House had questioned both the state commissioner for Finance and Commerce on the project. 4. Under the scheme, small scale business are allowed to access the fund through the state governments. The maximum amount that can be assessed is 2 billion Naira by any participating states. 5. 60% of the said fund are meant to provide financial services to women with small and petty businesses in the state. OBSERVATIONS 1. What is the problem of Remmy Hazzan and other in G13 group, are they against the development of the state? 2. Why do they treat all issues with politics? 3. It is obvious they are against our women and owners of small businesses in thhe state. What is your own opinion and contributions. Thanks and God Ogun State
