2 days down of farm tours and first day of the new year... Started off a little rocky with the bad weather, but it warming each day. We had to move Arabian Expressions to 9am on Sunday, the Rivero/Pegasus/Thompson presentation was great despite the rain. The Phoenix Childrens Hospital Benefit hosted by the Ames Family was spectacular, not only is Mr & Mrs. John Ames farm beautiful by day, it is at night that it really comes alive. The most amazing display of Christmas lights that could never be explained but has to be experienced. The party was special and they raised over 200k for kids with cancer. Was a great great evening... Today started with Stonewall Farm and it was bitter bitter cold, but still had a great turn out. So proud of David Cains and what he has done with the farm, landscape and the breeding program. Than a quick stop to Silver Spurs who have one of the top performance breeding programs in the world and stand some of the top QH/Reining stallions. It is a great addition on the tour and glad they showcase another side of our business. Michael N Michelle Miola are so nice and so good for the horse business. If you have not met them yet, you need to... Was wonderful to end day 2 at the most beautiful farm in the valley that also has some of the top horses you will ever see, and what makes it even more special is the gracious hosts that are everything the Arabian horse industry SHOULD be about. Murray Shirley Popplewell always are there to support a good cause, and always helps us with the Healing Hearts auction for horses in need, see story below on my wall. The Peacemakers are also suck a class act, rarely do you see a family that is special as this one. It is no wonder they are such good friends with the Popplewells as they are so similar in so many ways. Quality and talent throughout... Thank you to all the donors, and purchasers of the auctions items. David Boggs, Elizabeth and Jack Milam and anyone else I may have forgot. The money will go to good use, more on the auction soon... I am ready for some better weather and more beautiful horses tomorrow... hope everyone had a great day and wonderful start to an exceptional New Year...
