2 missing after barge in Mississippi River updated 6:33pm. Mississippi county (KAIT)- The mississippi county sherrifs dept confirmed it is looking for 2 ppl in the mississippi river after a barge capsized.please in the river. The dock near nucor steels Hickman plant is owned by kinder morgan.K.M. spokesman Richard Wheatley says the barge was being unloaded around 4pm when it capsized.the mississippi county dive team,uscg, & several local fire dept. are actively searching for the 2 men.wheatley says kinder morgan does not own the barge.a portion of the river near the dock is closed as crews search the area.the company says it will investigate how the incident happened. The river is near flood stage & rising.a flood warning will be in effect beginning Saturday when the river reaches flood stage at 28 feet.
