2 wounded in Springfield shooting SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two people have been taken to the hospital following a shooting in Springfield Thursday afternoon. Police Lt. Robert Moynihan told 22News that the city’s shotspotter activation system picked up the sound of shots fired around 3:15 P.M. at State and Walnut Streets. Moynihan said that the extent of the victims’ injuries is not known at this time. Police officers are securing the area. 22News has a crew on the way, and will bring you the latest information as soon as it becomes available.
