2 years on from Nirbhaya and very little has changed. Reposting something I had written on the anniversary of one of the worst crimes committed against a woman. The protests stopped, candles burnt out, people moved on but nothing really changed. People dont even get to know 5% of what really happens in our country. Majority of the cases dont get reported and unfortunately, a large proportion of rape cases filed are fake which is counterproductive and undermines the actual cases. Its fairly long read but a lot of things that people dont talk about are mentioned - Change starts from home. Hanging the rapist is probably an apt punishment but the real attempt must be to try and stop children and young men into becoming one..
