2) সূরা আল বাক্বারাহ (মদীনায় অবতীর্ণ), আয়াত সংখ্যা 286 بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু। الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَتْلُونَهُ حَقَّ تِلاَوَتِهِ أُوْلَـئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَمن يَكْفُرْ بِهِ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ (121 আমি যাদেরকে গ্রন্থ দান করেছি, তারা তা যথাযথভাবে পাঠ করে। তারাই তৎপ্রতি বিশ্বাস করে। আর যারা তা অবিশ্বাস করে, তারাই হবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। Those (who embraced Islâm from Banî Israel) to whom We gave the Book [the Taurât (Torah)] [or those (Muhammad’s Peace be upon him companions) to whom We have given the Book (the Qur’ân)] recite it (i.e. obey its orders and follow its teachings) as it should be recited (i.e. followed), they are the ones that believe therein. And whoso disbelieves in it (the Qur’ân), those are they who are the losers. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubî. Vol. 2, Page 95). يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّي فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ (122 হে বনী-ইসরাঈল! আমার অনুগ্রহের কথা স্মরণ কর, যা আমি তোমাদের দিয়েছি। আমি তোমাদেরকে বিশ্বাবাসীর উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দান করেছি। O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you to the ’Alamîn (mankind and jinns) (of your time-period, in the past). وَاتَّقُواْ يَوْماً لاَّ تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ وَلاَ تَنفَعُهَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ (123 তোমরা ভয় কর সেদিনকে, যে দিন এক ব্যক্তি থেকে অন্য ব্যক্তি বিন্দুমাত্র উপকৃত হবে না, কারও কাছ থেকে বিনিময় গৃহীত হবে না, কার ও সুপারিশ ফলপ্রদ হবে না এবং তারা সাহায্য প্রাপ্ত ও হবে না। And fear the Day (of Judgement) when no person shall avail another, nor shall compensation be accepted from him, nor shall intercession be of use to him, nor shall they be helped. وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي قَالَ لاَ يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ (124 যখন ইব্রাহীমকে তাঁর পালনকর্তা কয়েকটি বিষয়ে পরীক্ষা করলেন, অতঃপর তিনি তা পূর্ণ করে দিলেন, তখন পালনকর্তা বললেন, আমি তোমাকে মানবজাতির নেতা করব। তিনি বললেন, আমার বংশধর থেকেও! তিনি বললেন আমার অঙ্গীকার অত্যাচারীদের পর্যন্ত পৌঁছাবে না। And (remember) when the Lord of Ibrâhim (Abraham) [i.e., Allâh] tried him with (certain) Commands, which he fulfilled. He (Allâh) said (to him), ”Verily, I am going to make you a leader (Prophet) of mankind.” [Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said, ”And of my offspring (to make leaders).” (Allâh) said, ”My Covenant (Prophethood, etc.) includes not Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).” وَإِذْ جَعَلْنَا الْبَيْتَ مَثَابَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَمْناً وَاتَّخِذُواْ مِن مَّقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى وَعَهِدْنَا إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ أَن طَهِّرَا بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّائِفِينَ وَالْعَاكِفِينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجُودِ (125 যখন আমি কা’বা গৃহকে মানুষের জন্যে সম্মিলন স্থল ও শান্তির আলয় করলাম, আর তোমরা ইব্রাহীমের দাঁড়ানোর জায়গাকে নামাযের জায়গা বানাও এবং আমি ইব্রাহীম ও ইসমাঈলকে আদেশ করলাম, তোমরা আমার গৃহকে তওয়াফকারী, অবস্থানকারী ও রুকু-সেজদাকারীদের জন্য পবিত্র রাখ। And (remember) when We made the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) a place of resort for mankind and a place of safety. And take you (people) the Maqâm (place) of Ibrâhim (Abraham) [or the stone on which Ibrâhim (Abraham) stood while he was building the Ka’bah] as a place of prayer (for some of your prayers, e.g. two Rak’at after the Tawâf of the Ka’bah at Makkah), and We commanded Ibrâhim (Abraham) and Ismâ’il (Ishmael) that they should purify My House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) for those who are circumambulating it, or staying (I’tikâf), or bowing or prostrating themselves (there, in prayer). وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَـَذَا بَلَدًا آمِنًا وَارْزُقْ أَهْلَهُ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ مَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُم بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُ قَلِيلاً ثُمَّ أَضْطَرُّهُ إِلَى عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ (126 যখন ইব্রাহীম বললেন, পরওয়ারদেগার! এ স্থানকে তুমি শান্তিধান কর এবং এর অধিবাসীদের মধ্যে যারা অল্লাহ ও কিয়ামতে বিশ্বাস করে, তাদেরকে ফলের দ্বারা রিযিক দান কর। বললেনঃ যারা অবিশ্বাস করে, আমি তাদেরও কিছুদিন ফায়দা ভোগ করার সুযোগ দেব, অতঃপর তাদেরকে বলপ্রয়োগে দোযখের আযাবে ঠেলে দেবো; সেটা নিকৃষ্ট বাসস্থান। And (remember) when Ibrâhim (Abraham) said, ”My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allâh and the Last Day.” He (Allâh) answered: ”As for him who disbelieves, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the torment of the Fire, and worst indeed is that destination!” وَإِذْ يَرْفَعُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ (127 স্মরণ কর, যখন ইব্রাহীম ও ইসমাঈল কা’বাগৃহের ভিত্তি স্থাপন করছিল। তারা দোয়া করেছিলঃ পরওয়ারদেগার! আমাদের থেকে কবুল কর। নিশ্চয়ই তুমি শ্রবণকারী, সর্বজ্ঞ। And (remember) when Ibrâhim (Abraham) and (his son) Ismâ’il (Ishmael) were raising the foundations of the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah), (saying), ”Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us. Verily! You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.” رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ (128 পরওয়ারদেগার! আমাদের উভয়কে তোমার আজ্ঞাবহ কর এবং আমাদের বংশধর থেকেও একটি অনুগত দল সৃষ্টি কর, আমাদের হজ্বের রীতিনীতি বলে দাও এবং আমাদের ক্ষমা কর। নিশ্চয় তুমি তওবা কবুলকারী। দয়ালু। ”Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manâsik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage - Hajj and ’Umrah, etc.), and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful. رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولاً مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ العَزِيزُ الحَكِيمُ (129 হে পরওয়ারদেগার! তাদের মধ্যে থেকেই তাদের নিকট একজন পয়গম্বর প্রেরণ করুণ যিনি তাদের কাছে তোমার আয়াতসমূহ তেলাওয়াত করবেন, তাদেরকে কিতাব ও হেকমত শিক্ষা দিবেন। এবং তাদের পবিত্র করবেন। নিশ্চয় তুমিই পরাক্রমশালী হেকমতওয়ালা। ”Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own (and indeed Allâh answered their invocation by sending Muhammad Peace be upon him ), who shall recite unto them Your Verses and instruct them in the Book (this Qur’ân) and Al-Hikmah (full knowledge of the Islâmic laws and jurisprudence or wisdom or Prophethood, etc.), and sanctify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” وَمَن يَرْغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِلاَّ مَن سَفِهَ نَفْسَهُ وَلَقَدِ اصْطَفَيْنَاهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ (130 ইব্রাহীমের ধর্ম থেকে কে মুখ ফেরায়? কিন্তু সে ব্যক্তি, যে নিজেকে বোকা প্রতিপন্ন করে। নিশ্চয়ই আমি তাকে পৃথিবীতে মনোনীত করেছি এবং সে পরকালে সৎকর্মশীলদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। And who turns away from the religion of Ibrâhim (Abraham) (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) except him who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous. إِذْ قَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ أَسْلِمْ قَالَ أَسْلَمْتُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (131 স্মরণ কর, যখন তাকে তার পালনকর্তা বললেনঃ অনুগত হও। সে বললঃ আমি বিশ্বপালকের অনুগত হলাম। When his Lord said to him, ”Submit (i.e. be a Muslim)!” He said, ”I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).” وَوَصَّى بِهَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَا بَنِيَّ إِنَّ اللّهَ اصْطَفَى لَكُمُ الدِّينَ فَلاَ تَمُوتُنَّ إَلاَّ وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ (132 এরই ওছিয়ত করেছে ইব্রাহীম তার সন্তানদের এবং ইয়াকুবও যে, হে আমার সন্তানগণ, নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্য এ ধর্মকে মনোনীত করেছেন। কাজেই তোমরা মুসলমান না হয়ে কখনও মৃত্যুবরণ করো না। And this (submission to Allâh, Islâm) was enjoined by Ibrâhim (Abraham) upon his sons and by Ya’qûb (Jacob), (saying), ”O my sons! Allâh has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the Faith of Islâm (as Muslims - Islâmic Monotheism).” أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَاء إِذْ حَضَرَ يَعْقُوبَ الْمَوْتُ إِذْ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن بَعْدِي قَالُواْ نَعْبُدُ إِلَـهَكَ وَإِلَـهَ آبَائِكَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَقَ إِلَـهًا وَاحِدًا وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ (133 তোমরা কি উপস্থিত ছিলে, যখন ইয়াকুবের মৃত্যু নিকটবর্তী হয়? যখন সে সন্তানদের বললঃ আমার পর তোমরা কার এবাদত করবে? তারা বললো, আমরা তোমার পিতৃ-পুরুষ ইব্রাহীম, ইসমাঈল ও ইসহাকের উপাস্যের এবাদত করব। তিনি একক উপাস্য। Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya’qûb (Jacob)? When he said unto his sons, ”What will you worship after me?” They said, ”We shall worship your Ilâh (God - Allâh), the Ilâh (God) of your fathers, Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ismâ’il (Ishmael), Ishâque (Isaac), One Ilâh (God), and to Him we submit (in Islâm).” تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلاَ تُسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (134 আমরা সবাই তাঁর আজ্ঞাবহ। তারা ছিল এক সম্প্রদায়-যারা গত হয়ে গেছে। তারা যা করেছে, তা তাদেরই জন্যে। তারা কি করত, সে সম্পর্কে তোমরা জিজ্ঞাসিত হবে না। That was a nation who has passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned and you of what you earn. And you will not be asked of what they used to do. وَقَالُواْ كُونُواْ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَارَى تَهْتَدُواْ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ (135 তারা বলে, তোমরা ইহুদী অথবা খ্রীষ্টান হয়ে যাও, তবেই সুপথ পাবে। আপনি বলুন, কখনই নয়; বরং আমরা ইব্রাহীমের ধর্মে আছি যাতে বক্রতা নেই। সে মুশরিকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল না। And they say, ”Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided.” Say (to them, O Muhammad Peace be upon him ), ”Nay, (We follow) only the religion of Ibrâhim (Abraham), Hanifa [Islâmic Monotheism, i.e. to worship none but Allâh (Alone)], and he was not of Al-Mushrikûn (those who worshipped others along with Allâh - see V.2:105).”
