20 REASONS ACADEMIC STRIKE (ASUU, ASUP) SHOULD BE AVOIDED 1. It increases the rate of crime 2. It one of the major course of brain drain in the academic settings 3. It render many people jobless as all commercial activities on the campus would not function 4. Believe me this period is when female students gets unwanted pregnancy the most. 5. Strike is the major cause why some student would never come back to school, because of factors such as accidents, and other environmental and social factors. 6. Some students end up in prison, by this, they would be unable to complete their education 7. It does not in any way increase productivity among students 8. Student are being rushed, because the school would want to meet up with academic calendar, due to this factor some school would run a semester for less than two month. 9. It always deprive students that are due for NYSC the opportunity to serve their father Land 10. It reduces the relevance of Nigeria institution among other Africa institutions 11. Strike period is always the most wasteful period in the life of most student 12. After every strike lecturers get paid, while the student will always be at the receiving end 13. Unlike every other form of strike in Nigeria, nobody seems to care whenever there is an Academic strike. 14. Whenever there is strike, student are used as excuse by both the Academic union and the he government, but you will agree with me that both the Academic Union and government are less concern of what becomes the future of the Nigerian Students. 15. If Academic strike persists, it may cause unrest in the country. When the students are being pushed to the wall they might the forced to fight back. 16. Strike should be discourage for the sake of our younger generations 17. Beyond the psychological impact of missing out on school days, there is risk associated with the loss of instruction days. 18. Academic Strike should be not be encouraged in any developing society 19. Persistent Academic Strike in Nigeria has continued to make private institutions more sorted after. 20. Academic Strike is bad and it should not be frequent in any Government or Country that what wants to develop.
