20 years ago today, Val castor and I, starting in Lubbock, were planning on making the long trek to Nebraska..a long shot to say the least. After a tasty breakfast at Dennys, where we ran into Howie Bluestein and his crew, we started north, hoping we might get lucky and have something form in western Kansas. As we cruised into the Oklahoma panhandle, we both were ready to call it quits. Although Val was still leaning towards going, his enthusiasm was waning by the second. As luck would have it, Gary A England called and told us to just head home...it looked like the next couple of days would be active into Oklahoma..relieved, we just came home. The excitement of that day still sends shivers down my spine.
