20 years of STRAM Camp Journal Part three This has been a great day! We started the day with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown, and biscuits and gravy. EVERYONE was thrilled with the food. I finally got to eat. But, before I could eat I was asked to speak with a young man about some issues in his life. He said he would only talk to me. That humbled me. I then prayed for guidance. As he talked he refilled to me that he had anger problems that were caused by him carrying the burdens of others. We talked about co-dependency. We talked for about 20 minutes. Without going into a lot of stuff, I shared with him; Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." I challenged him to read, study it, memorize it, and internalize it. He needed someone to tell him that he did not have to carry other’s burdens. When he heard too much, he would become angry. As I shared with him, I could see the Father begin to reveal to him the truth of what was being said. He had tears running down his cheeks. I had prayer with him and we parted. I went to get breakfast, which was basically gone. I did get enough to fill my plate. As I sat down to eat (I ate about five minutes) Jason came up to me to remind me of our 8:30 counselor meeting. I did not get to eat any more. This left me hungry for lunch, which they specially packed for me, (tons of pepper, tons of mustard, and tons of meat) they love me. I had half me sandwich before I was pulled away to help put everyone in their boats at the river. The river was low but still fun. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. 155 went down the river and 155 came back to camp. At camp we had the best spaghetti ever cooked. Dustin and I both agreed it was the BEST. For the first time at camp, I had a meal I got to finish. We started worship at 8:00 and ended about 8:09. Mansel did another fine job as our camp pastor. The band was excellent. We gave another invitation and more children came forward to make life-changing decisions. I believe that this is going to be a great week of decisions. That is all for now, we leave camp in the morning. I want to thank Brian for the use of his sound and light system. He is an answer to prayer.
