20 years of consistency in the game, 20 years in the entertainment industry is no childs play. #DreamerAndAchiever­: Happy birthday for the 22nd of March to one of South Africas remarkable and recognizable face in Mzansi showbiz. He inspired a number of big names in the entertainment industry to follow their dreams, Linda Sibiya and Dj Sbu being some of those big names in the industry that had publicly admitted. Entertainer, businessman, actor, presenter, motivational speaker, community activist, husband, father and a mate... Hes known to millions of South African as Nimrod Nkosi. His full name is Nikelo Nhlanhla Nimrod Nkosi, born on 22 March. Nkosi shares his birth date with radio personality, Dudu Lady D Khoza, as well as actress, Baby Cele. This God-fearing Methodist was born in Orlando and grew up in Pimville, Soweto, where he attended his lower level of education at Fred Clark Higher Primary School. In 1993 he enrolled for a course in acting, directing, creative arts at Fuba Academy of Drama & Art and it was the same year when he joined Windybrow Theatre. While he was still at Windybrow Theatre, Nkosi acted in a number of stage shows including his lead role in We shall sing for the father land, The Moment, Sons & Daughters. In 1994 he attended at New Cast cc where he studied radio & TV course, same year, 1994, we witnessed Nkosis amazing acting talent where he was a supporting actor in SABC1s drama series, Ubambo lwami, which was directed by Percy Langa, same flexible, energetic and playful Langa also know as bra Percy, is working with him on his Soweto tv show. The following year, 1995, he excelled his performance again as supporting actor on SABC2s Pale Toe, as a result of his passion and dedication in his work, Nkosi got a lead role in SABC1s The LAST Hope. Clearly 1995 was a good year for this bubble and disciplined young gentleman as he got the biggest gig when he joined to co-host with the radio legend, Wilson B. Nkosi in presenting the then SABCs biggest youth show, Jam Alley. Nkosi got into Jam Alley and changed the game for better and create a buzz, he brought back that Fridays excitement of Lingisa youth TV show. He was then awarded for his fantastic job in Avanti Awards as the best presenter. Nkosi used his Jam Ally platform as an instrument in changing youngsters lives for better. Nimrod Nkosi and his then colleague, Oscar Mlangeni who was a producer of Jam Alley, partnered in forming Bull Dawgs recording label. Both gentlemen had already gained an experience in the entertainment industry, Oscar being a producer in Jam Alley and Nimrod presenting the same show. They discovered and nourished a number of young kwaito stars talents, introducing Mzambiya, Mshoza, Msawawa, Kortez and a number of dancers. Mzambiya aka Nkosinathi Zwane became the youngest kwaito star to sell more than 120 000 albums at 12-years of age of which that was the record broke by Nkosi and Mlangenis recording label. Another biggest artist from Bull Dawgs was the award winning Msawawa aka Sboniso Dlamini who shot to fame with the hit Bewngakanani from his debut album The Hurricane. Mshoza aka Nomasonto Maswanganyi was officially the first female artist to be signed up with Bull Dawgs and recorded her first solo album named Bull Dawgs First Lady featuring Mzambiya. Second female artist to be signed by Bull Dawgs was Kortez aka Zenzi Mthembu, Mthembu was also discovered on SABC1 Jam Alley after performing her free style. Kwaito recording artist, Blackrose aka Sfiso Khumalo, was also part of Bull Dawgs dancers before releasing his New Breed album with a different label. He danced for Mzambiya, Msawawa and Mshoza. After 5 years with Jam Alley, in 2000 Nkosi surprised a lot of his fans when he left the popular youth show for eTVs National Lottery’s TV game show, he became the face of Lotto. Some of his fans described this move of leaving Jam Alley as a sign of maturity, and most people bet he was not going to last longer with National Lotterys TV show due to a completely different target market. 13 years later Nkosi managed to keep Lotto viewers entertained and glued on their screens as he successfully continues to prove he is a best presenter. In 2002 he went back into acting and joined Soul City Institute family as an actor in Soul City. ETvs series, Scandal announced in 2006 during their press release Lotto Guy turns up to be the bad guy. Nkosi played Hector Dubes role as a sly, but charming and well-connected criminal. Till to date, Nimrod is greatly in demand as a Host/MC for corporate functions and a well versed motivational speaker. 20 years later on TV, Nimrod Nkosi managed to sustain and stay relevant to his game.
