2012 FACT hero to feature for Navua Suvas 2012 Vodafone Fiji FACT winning goal-scorer Shivam Nathan will feature for his home town Navua in this years edition of the tournament in Nausori. After spending more than 2 season away from football due to injury, Nathan looks all set to help the Southerners achieve positive results. His 9th minute strike from outside the box gave Ba goalie Jone Ralulu no chance at all as Suva ended its 17-year FACT drought at Govind Park. Navua coach Saiyad Ali said Nathan is giving his best in training and his experience will be vital for the team. We are happy to have Shivam in the team. He is a genuine Navua boy and has returned home after helping Suva win titles in 2012. He is a very disciplined and hardworking player and often leads by example, Ali told FijiLive. He has great leadership qualities as well and gets a lot of respect from the players. He is one of the very few experienced players in the squad as I have a new squad since most of the senior players have either left the team or are out injured. Shivam, Praneel Kumar, Seveci Rokotakala, Sheik Moshin, Vinit Chand, Rajnesh Raju and goalkeeper Tevita Koroi are the only experienced players in the squad and with a relatively new outfit, we will be looking to create upsets and do well. Navua is grouped with defending champion Nadi, Suva and Lautoka in Pool B and will open its campaign against the Jetsetters at 1pm on Friday.
