2013.08.21《FM 日誌》: 《趕場有果》 On Tuesday and Wednesday, MM Shop was manned by Stephen. I was taking care of a stand at a corporate internal fair in Kwai Chung. Turnover was meagre and I have been asked if it had been a waste of time ... I don’t find it so. ;-) From the money point of view, yes. And it has been energy consuming too: the strenuous drive through Lung Cheung Road to unfamiliar areas in Kwai Chung and back, getting lost and finding my way, and manning 1 of the 6 stands squeezed onto a corporate pantry. We stand with our backs to the panel where staff get their drinking water, disposes used instant noodle cups, microwave their lunch and get salt and pepper and such ... All not so easy, but I look at the episode as a short break from the not necessarily less hard routine. At the fair, I got to talk to some corporate staff about our path and managed to uplift a few, albeit at worst perhaps only for an instant. I got to see fair trade promoters, most of whom we know, and some for longer. Reunion with one fair trader was particularly replenishing. Since business was mostly on the low side, we found comfort in each other’s company and entertained ourselves with small talk and tea and snack. I shared some bits of homemade Kefir chocolate bread and Kefir Coconut Cake. Apart from letting them try out my Ginger Coco Nectar drink and our unique snacks, I introduced them Spirulina Crunchy as pototo chip substitute. Everybody played along and got excited about the new ‘snack’. I also put 3 teaspoonful Spirulina into somebody’s Instant Noodles soup. She found the idea unbeatable. When the fair ended, I had the sweet experience of one corporate staff help me pack, and one of the fair traders waiting for me to finish packing. She eventually went down to the loading bay together with me, she with her two big cartons and me with our 15 smaller ones. She even helped me load the boxes into the car. I felt like an unliberated woman, for once. On my way to pick up Stephen at MM Shop, God sent me to a wrong turn and I ended up visiting a long-wanted-to-visit friend at a remote sanatorium. She was lying in a coma for a week after a stroke when I was in Germany. With endless love and care showered by her husband, she can now move every little finger and toe. I had no flowers with me, so I presented her with made from a tissue paper. All in all, a very fruitful day. FM :)
