2013-2014 APES Summer Assignment You must find or do the items in the following scavenger hunt list. Proof can be obtained digitally, with some sort of authentication of the images (you appearing in the picture or a date on an item, when applicable). You will also need to write a reflection summary (250-500 words). You should review your reactions, what you learned, and/or how you think this will apply to the course. All evidence should be submitted at one time, NO LATER THAN the first class day following the Labor Day holiday. You can create a presentation (Powerpoint, Prezi, etc.) of the images. Make sure to include your reflections in your presentation. APES Scavenger Hunt Objects to collect: • 5 different pieces of trash from a public place (e.g., cigarette butts, plastic, cups, etc.) • 3 eco-related pamphlets (or pictures of eco-signs) found within 200 miles of Jax • 1 product made from recycled materials Things to identify: • 1 edible item growing in your neighborhood • 1 electric or hybrid vehicle in use (i.e., not merely at a dealership, but can be parked) • 1 environmentally positive sight (i.e., something you think is helping the environment) Places to go: • A zoo, science museum, or nature park (certain city parks, state parks, etc.) • A farmers’ market (RAM, Jacksonville Farmers’ Market, Beaches Green Market, etc.) • A store that sells locally (
