2013 Annual Police Report: Here are some excerpts of the report provided to our Borough Council regarding the activities of the Mount Union Police Department for the year 2013. Once again, it is with great pleasure that I present to you the Annual Report of the Mount Union Borough Police Department for the Year 2013. We have been able to continue to provide the Borough of Mount Union with the professional, dedicated police protection that the residents both expect and deserve. Through the cooperative effort of a supportive Borough Council, Mayor Allison, and the leadership of the Corporals, the Mount Union Police Department has continued to grow, and the Borough of Mount Union is able to reap the benefit of a successful and professional police agency. Our officers have patrolled over 20,000 miles throughout the year 2013. Proactive patrol has been able to keep the crime rates down, and allowed officers to actively seek out and deter crime. The officers of the Mount Union Borough Police Department initiated three hundred and ninety two (392) arrests during the year 2013, including 219 summary traffic arrests, 75 Non-Traffic summary arrests, 18 DUI arrests, 80 Criminal (misdemeanor and felony) arrests, and 31 arrests of juveniles. The officers responded to and handled a record setting 1,751 reportable incidents, and countless other incidents which did not substantiate a report to be written. We, the officers of the Mount Union Borough Police Department, look forward to continuing to provide police services and protection to the Borough of Mount Union in the coming year. We look forward to and strive to continue to improve the quality of the Mount Union Borough Police Department, the quality of life in the Borough of Mount Union, and thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
