2013 Indiana AIDS Walk Location: 22nd Street & Talbott Street, Indianapolis, IN Time: 4:00pm - 6:00pm Registration: 3:30pm - 4:30pm Activities include: • Entertainment • Wellness Fair • Pet Pit Stop • Awards and Prizes • Walk Step-off at 5 p.m. The Indiana AIDS Fund, a program of The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis, raises money through the annual Indiana AIDS Walk. Each year, the Indiana AIDS Walk enjoys increased success and support from the community. Last year’s event raised more than $225,000! Who Walks? More than 1,000 people each year! Families, groups of friends, businesses, civic leaders, youth, fraternities, sororities, churches, educators, volunteers, corporations, children, pets, concerned citizens, clubs, and associations – anyone interested in helping Hoosiers with HIV in emergency situations. You Can Win Prizes! • Top Individual Fundraiser • Top Teams o Bars/Restaurants o Religious Organizations o Club/Groups The Ultimate Reward: Helping Those with HIV/AIDS. All proceeds benefit the Gregory R. Powers Direct Emergency Financial Assistance (DEFA) Fund. AIDS Service Organizations (ASO) and other grantees of the Indiana AIDS Fund use DEFA funds to provide emergency financial assistance and direct care for those throughout Indiana impacted by HIV/AIDS. DEFA can be used to cover utility payments, rent and other housing costs, medical expenses, prescription drug costs, transportation expenses as well as costs of food, clothing and other basic needs.
