2013 was an outstanding year for the Little Sisters Fund. In 2013 we provided scholarships for over 1,300 Little Sisters in Nepal. Our year on year continuation rate remains over 98% and since inception we have empowered more that 1,800 Little Sisters in their academic pursuits by providing safety, opportunity and hope through the gift of education and mentoring. The Nepal Team: Under Usha’s watchful eye and guidance, the Nepal Team is remarkable. Their level of knowledge and expertise, commitment to the well being of each and every Little Sister and their ability to do amazing work is unmatched. Little Sisters continue to thrive and to accomplish so much both individually and collectively. Academically the Little Sisters are achieving incredible results. 66% are ranked above average, another 31% are ranked at-level and only 3% are ranked below average. And almost all of those 3% are newly accepted Little Sisters who, in short time, will start to realize their potential and will begin a steady rise towards the top of their respective classes. The 2013 Little Sisters Fund SLC Results: 2013 SLC showed the true power of the gift of education. The SLC is a national exam that all Nepalese students must take and pass if they wish to continue their studies beyond the 10th grade. In 2013, 50 Little Sisters took the exam. The national pass rate was 41.57%. The girl pass rate was just 36.15%. The Little Sisters Funds pass rate was 100%! Nationally 8% of test takers scored top marks of Distinction. The LSF had a 34% Distinction rate. Nationally 20% of test takers scored 1st Division. The LSF had a 58% 1st Division result. Thus, 92% of Little Sisters taking the SLC scored either Distinction or 1st Division. The remaining 8% of Little Sisters passed with 2nd Division results.
