2014-10-04: there were migrants around this morning. Dave Gagne and I spent 4.5 hours (0730-1200) at Key Vista Nature Park, then Anclote Gulf Park once it stated raining, then back to Key Vista. Highlights: 2,800 Blue-winged Teal, all southbound, with flocks ranging from 25 to a few hundred each 14 American Avocets, flocks of 3, 10, and 1, all southbound 1 Peregrine Falcon 1 Yellow-throated Vireo (getting latish) 15 species of wood-warblers, including 1 male Golden-winged; 1 Worm-eating; 2 Tennessee; 2 Magnolia, 2 Blackburnian; and 4 Chestnut-sided 2 Scarlet Tanagers Additionally, Daves ears picked up numerous diurnally-migrating thrushes (6 Veery, 15 Gray-cheeked, and 75 Swainsons). Some humorously awful warbler photos are attached.
